Music Nation is the online home for independent music, a community where artists and fans connect in a new way. The site designs and offers artists a number of promotional tools to use in marketing themselves both online and off, while providing fans with an original outlet for discovering new music. The community rallies around a series of competitions, where fans can actively get involved with the music industry by having a hand in launching an artist's career, and artists can earn a record deal with Original Signal/Epic Records (among other prizes). Original Signal Recordings is the artist development arm of Music Nation, offering a new breed of deals that merge the services of a traditional record label with a pioneering approach to long-term development.

Working and staffed as one, Music Nation/Original Signal is a 20+-person strong team comprised of ex-pats seasoned from time at major and indie labels, marketing and publicity companies. Frustrated by the state of the music business, the staff works together to enact new, dynamic ways to sell, market, and develop artists.
